Lunarpages Rocks my Socks

Gawd I hope I'm posting in the correct forum here.  I'd hate to annoy admin.. lol

I just upgraded my explorer and outlook express to 6 and since then, when I shut down my pc I no longer get the "it is safe to turn off your puter" message.

So I have to reboot (because the screen freezes on "Windows is now shutting down") and go thru a scandisk and then it's all fine when I shut down.  Providing I don't reopen Outlook express or my browser.

Next day when I boot up my pc, outlook express gives me the message it wasn't shut down properly, even though it was.

Any ideas?

Hi Amy,
I can only say one word, and yer not gonna like it.  REINSTALL.  Redo your upgrade.....BUT WAIT!  If you go to add/remove progs, and click on Internet Explorer 6, then click on change/remove, you should see an option to REPAIR the installation.  Here's a tip, though.  You may want to go into your Outlook Express settings, and see what your STORE FOLDER is under maintenance.  Copy that mess, and put it in a search box.  It'll be under windows\profiles (98) or \Documents and Settings (2000/XP) somewhere.  Take that folder with the long funny name, and just copy it elswhere.  That will create a backup of all your messages and all (just in case).
BTW,  I'll post something in mods about the giveaway we briefly talked about.  Let's get that going.
