Whenever I set file permissions in CPanel's file mangaer I get a notification that permissions are set the way I specified, but when I go to verify it is always something completely different than what I set it to.  Am I not doing something correctly, or is this a flaw in the system?

Thanks,
Mike

I've seen setting them twice helps.  This was a bit of a bug I believe, that seemed to dissapear with the latest version of cPanel.

Try it in an ftp client.  If that doesn't work either, email support so that it can be looked into.  Include the name of any affected files or directories
