Author Topic: Beta Xen and old domain  (Read 1063 times)

I'm on the Xen vps beta program, and I have a general question. After the beta program I will likely not continue with the VPS (both cost and storage- I have more than 20 gigs of files on my shared plan already), but even though I am buidling a new website (with a new domain name) on the vps, I was wondering about moving one of my "old" sites to it- a wordpress site.
My thinking is that it would give a better tryout of the server to have a site which gets a fair amount of traffic.

So- my question- can I simply leave the old site (an addon domain) on my shared plan, install wordpress and get the site set up on the vps, add the dns stuff in the vps name server, then change the name server registration from the ns4.lunarpages to the vps name server.... then when the beta is finished, export the site from the vps, import it into the shared account and change the registration back?

I would really like to give LP some good feedback on the beta, but with a fresh domain, I'm not sure how much I can do.

Hello,

As the nature of the Beta program does not effect your shared account at all, you can do exactly as you mentioned.  Just simply let us know via the ticket if you need our help with anything.
