My VPS was just setup today

When I click Domain -> domain.com -> Setup is the FTP Login under Account Preferences supposed to be the username I was given for the Backup Server login?

I guess I'm a little confused because I assumed that the client that was created when my VPS was setup would have FTP access by default...and I can only connect to FTP using the Backup Login name. Obviously I don't want to upload my site to the backup

Hello,

FTP account details under Setup domain are login details which will be used to get access to the domain you configure.  The FTP login details mentioned in your welcome email are username and password to the account on dedicated FTP server that you can use to backup your data (everybody knows how it is important to backup vital information Wink ). The login for backup account are not related to the one you configure under domain setup and, usually, is the same as login at lunarpages.com.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Sorry the login name I used to sign into Plesk to manage the domain doesn't work as an FTP login. This is the primary domain that was created when my VPS was set up, so I didn't actually set it up myself. Only the login I was given for Backup in the welcome email worked. I uploaded some pages under the Backup login and they are accessible from the web.

I think the welcome email could've been a little clearer as to which login I'm to use to sign in at Lunarpages.com, because the Backup login wouldn't have been my first guess...or second. I mean, I'm all about the trial and error  Doh but some people aren't and they just stop.
