in Plesk/Virtuozzo, I can only make ONE full backup.  and then it says "you have reached maximum allowed number of backups",

my questions are:

1. where is the backup file located? i want to store it to some where else before i delete it in Plesk in order to make another newer backup.

2. How can i make more than one backups?

3.  i could not find "pleskbackup" or "pleskresotre" utilites in my VPS.

The backup is made to the disk space  of hardware node and you do not have access to it.

Only one full backup is allowed on VPS plan. If you are going to perform major changes on the server, you can remove the current backup and create a new one so that you could get back if something goes wrong.

You need to add Plesk backup component to get these features available. This can be performed under Server -> Updater. Select "Plesk Backup Manager" and click Install link.

below is my understanding:

for whole VPS backup/restore, i have 2 options:
1. I can reset my VPS anytime. (like a new installed VPS )
2. I can do 1 full backup after i made server changes and confirmed it is good, and could rollback the whole VPS to this point later.

for part of VPS backup/restore:
i could use anytools to backup some directories and restore them later.

I found out: reset VPS in Pleask is not exactly like a new setup VPS, for example, the DNS might be already configured by Lunarpages , so if you do reset in Plesk, thouse settings are gone.

perestrelka,ask you a question, IF i want to use "tar" to backup my whole system, which directory should i include? something like this?

tar cf sys.tar /

This command will fall into loop because the tar will try to archive the archive it will be creating because the file will be stored under / as well. So you would list the folders in the root of filesystem that you would like to backup:

tar -cv sys.tar /etc /home /root /usr /var
