What is the recommended way to configure to use PHP5?

OK, I was able to do an update to PHP 5.

Here's what I did.

1. Enabled CentOSPlus

Edited /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo.
After [centosplus]
Set "enabled=1"

2. Updated PHP

yum update php

3. Bounced apache

I've a quick question that relates to this - I'm on VPS and cannot see my etc folder (I also cannot create one).

I read elsewhere that i can just create a support desk ticket and someone will upgrade my php to php5 for me - is that for me or just the shared hosting people?

You need to edit configuration in the /etc/ folder of the server as root and do not try to create the folder under you domain home folder.

That's correct sysadmins of Lunarpages can do the upgrade for you by your request sent in the support ticket.

As of today, July 16th, 2008, LP will request $75 per hour if you ask them for an upgrade. Although, they did complete my upgrade when some dependencies were required. FYI.
