Since I got VPS I have had a reoccurring problem. I keep getting invalid user name password errors. I have contacted tech support several times they fix it. But in under 24 hours it happens again.

Yesterday I asked what was the problem and how do they fix it. They said looked at

“/var/log/messages file and saw the following error messages.” They in turn “opened /etc/xinetd.d/popa3d file and set disable = yes and restarted xinetd  as this:”

OK in more simple terms how do I do this? Yep its happened again.

I am gathering its something beyond  lunar control, or my control. I noticed an IP involved with this that isn’t mine. I think someone’s trying to hack failing and screwing things up

Hello,

This is something we will be happy to look into since Plesk was installed by us. Please create a ticket by sending a email to vps@lunarpages.com or raise this recurring issue in the dedicatedchat.

To modify /etc/xinetd.d/popa3d, you need to ssh in the server as root. Open the file in a editor, i.e.

Code:
nano /etc/xinetd.d/popa3d

Make the necessary changes, save the file and restart xinetd to accept the new configuration:

Code:
/etc/init.d/xinetd restart

I hope this helps.
