I just got my VPS all set up, but I have a question about the nameservers.

I contacted my registar and had them register the nameservers about 5 days ago.

If I go to internic.com and look up the nameservers, they show there, but have not propagated to the web. If I ping or nslookup the names, I get a host not found error.

Have they simply not propagated yet, or is there something else I have to do?

I was reading some article on the web about 'dns not responding authoritatively and refusing to propagate, and other articles saying you have to configure something in Plesk, and others saying you have to set up A NAME and C NAME entries.

I haven't changed my hostnames for my domain yet, since I am migrating from shared to VPS, and want to make sure all is well before I do.

Please Help!

Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug,

Unfortunately, it is hard to determine the exact reason without checking your domain. You may contact official support regarding this problem by emailing vps@lunarpages.com or via online chat at dedicated@lunarpages.com. There is a chance you will need to get in touch with registrar of the domain to find out why the registered nameservers are not getting propagated.

I hope this helps.

Appears there was some sort of misconfiguration in Plesk.

Lunarpages awesome support fixed it all up, and now it's working fine.  Bouncin for Joy

Hope this helps anyone with similar problem in the future.
