It has been brought to my attention that someone hosting a site on Lunarpages is plagarizing text that is my intellectual property.  What should I do?

Just contact the person and ask to remove the what you consider your intellectual property. Remember there is a thin line for plegerism and that is if the person refrases the information you have in your site then it may not be plegerism.

Like I said the best way is to contact and be civil about it. If the person does not comply with your request and you are most definetly  sure in all legall aspect that you are in the correct position the use more strict measures.

Cheers

Note: This is my point of view im not implying what you should do or not to do in case of this matter.

May this information be used for educational purposes only..

If it were my stuff, I would definitely let them know first.  Most of these cases are of innocent negligence.  You'll know if that's the case here by the persons reply (or lack of).  There's also the option of saying that the person can use it as long as he gives you credit and links to you.  I don't know the nature of the content, but that's also an option.  Works out well for you, it's another link into your site.  Just my opinion.

I'm afraid in this case the thin line is on the other side--if it were any less plagarized, it would be outright copyright violation.  The person changed a bare minimum of words from my original text.

Theft of intellectual property feels just as violating as theft of physical property.

Another way to help make this things a bit harder to copy. Since is text you can use scripts to disable right clik of the mouse, or encrypt your page code. There are a few tools out there. That may help you..

Cheers!

I think you should send original copy along with the link to the persons page to lunarpages admin to take a look at.

yes, i agree that a calm cool but stern word should be said to whom ever.
I just had a breif look at your site which is at a glance very nice.
though the word "synopis" should be "synopsis" i believe.
Good luck, Shadow
