After using an FTP program to upload files to LP for my website, I found that I couldn't access my web page via browser, nor could I receive email or log into the control panel. I provided LP support the usual info (IP, ISP, and tracert showing that they were blocking me), and they said they'd have to escalate it to the server admins to review. That was about 14 hours ago and nothing still. This is my business site and I am unable to access it, even for viewing! I've sent another message asking about the status, but 3 hours and still nothing.

Last month, LP deleted my entire site. They didn't know why and couldn't restore it. Luckily I had a full backup. They did give me 2 months free hosting after I raised a stink with a supervisor.

I guess it's time to find a new ISP. Too bad, I really used to like LP.

Your IP has been unblocked. You should have access now. Sorry for any inconvenience.

My company that hosts several websites also had a website completely deleted a little while back. We didn't get any free hosting though. LunarPages didn't claim responsibility for what happened or any solutions. Just letting you know that you're not alone.

A couple of comments- an ISP is not a web host... pretty basic stuff.
I'm not *really* accusing anything, but it is always kind of odd when people with 1 or 2 posts come out complaining- I've been with LP for a couple of years now, I've hit my shared server pretty hard with ftp stuff, and I've never, ever had my IP address banned- though I understand if automatic security applications will flag and an IPs sometimes- especially if the alternative is a DOS attack, bringing down hundreds of sites on a shared server.

What FTP program (client) were you using to mass-upload files? I suppose it's possible that a poorly written (or configured) program could hit the server with so many connection attempts in a short time that the server thinks it's under DoS attack. The result would be that your (ISP) IP address would be banned. Maybe someone else has had experience with this particular FTP client and could suggest configuration changes that would make it play nice at LP.

Another thing: concerning the long delay in responding to you, make sure you're waiting for support to reply before you reply or add to the ticket. If you don't, and keep adding "Where are you?" updates, each one shoves you to the back of the line, and support never sees the ticket!
