I'm switching a client over to Lunarpages.  They have several email addresses.  Coincidentally their current host uses Horde an SquirrelMail too.

Once I change their domain nameservers and upload all their files, what do I do about their email addresses?  Do I need to set them all up manually via cPanel?

If so, that's no problem, but will they lose anything?

Any recommendations for making the transition as glitch free as possible?

Thanks!

I would wait on changing the name servers until you had the new site up and running with us - so that both hosting accounts were copies of each other.  Go in and then create the e-mail accounts in cPanel, then when you update the nameservers - there might be a small amount of time where they can not access mail, but shouldn't be too long.  Usual domain name propagation time for an existing domain is 24 - 48 hours.

??

In the past I've found that I cannot ftp the files to the LP server until after the domain name propagation is done.

How can I get the site in place before I change the nameservers at the domain name registrar?

You could sign up using our sub-domain option, and then when your ready to use the real domain name - drop in an e-mail to support@lunarpages.com and we can turn your samplename.lunarpagestestsite.com to your real domain name.   Thumbs Up

The new hosting account is already set up.

I see from the critical info email that I can ftp to ftp://fetu.lunarmania.com/ rather than www.thesite.com...so that seems to be covered...

How can I set up the email addresses so that no one loses any emails they have in their inbox and other folders?

Thanks!
