So I opened a support ticket with this question, but they were not very clear.  I am looking for a web host to host my PHP and some Django powered websites I will be making.  I am looking for a web host basically that offers:

- SSH access, with background processes allowed (via the bash command 'nohup' e.g. 'nohup ./script &')
- Python 2.3 at least (preferably higher)
- Ability to request Python modules installed
- mod_fastcgi support (I know mod_python is not supported, but I can make do with fastcgi)
- PHP 5

From what I can tell, lunarpages supports all of these prerequisites.  However, I am NOT being given a clear answer to if Lunarpages allows background processes being run via SSH!  I know Lunarpages does not directly support django, but I can manually install it and everything as long as this is supported.  Also, would I be able to request certain Python modules installed?  (Namely the Python MySQL library.. I think it is called MySQLdb)

Thank you.. hopefully you give a more clear answer than support!  They simply pretty much told me mod_python is not supported.. which is not my question!

I know of another host that supports ALL of those prerequisites, and at actually a (slightly) better price than Lunarpages, but I've used you guys before (when I only needed PHP) and I love you guys.  But.. I will have to go with this host unless you have support for this!

Thank you very much in advance,

* SSH access: yes with dedicated, probably with VPS (ask), no with shared (Basic or Business) unless you pay extra
* background processes: yes with dedicated, probably with VPS (ask), no with shared
* Python level and modules: I dunno
* mod_fastcgi: I've seen mention of "fastcgi". have you searched these forums?
* PHP 5: yes. available on most, if not all, servers.
