I'm on the verge of giving up and feeling defeated by the internet. * has been very good to me for almost a year now, yet lately I've been non-stop gritting my teeth and pulling my hair with their downtime, database failures. They're quick-to-fix but never concerned with preventing such problems and killing them at the source.

I researched Lunarpages a while back for my old boss, and so I don't think I need to bother looking through the current offerings as I'm sure everything I would want/need is still available.

However, there is one thing that not many hosting companies make available to their users (or, they make it available but not at the user's discretion). That is DNS Zone Management (or sometimes referred to as DNS Zone Filtering). * puts control of this into the individual users' hands, which is quite nice. Since I sometimes develop network-capable software or simply need a good hostname to use instead of bothering with dynamic IPs or DynDNS, it has always been a great convenience to be able to setup whatever.domain.com to point to some other remote server, allowing me to use that subdomain as hostname, instead of bothering with a DynDNS service or using IPs.

Does Lunarpages offer DNS Zone Management? If so, does Lunarpages put control of this into the users' hands, or must you submit a support ticket and have them do the DNS tinkering for you? I guess there are occasions where inexperienced users could severely cripple their own website and then panic to the customer service department, but I'm definitely on the look-out for a company in good standings like Lunarpages, but who offers DNS Zone Management without any strings attached. That may not be the factor that makes/breaks my decision, but it's something I would like. Not many hosting companies allow access to such a utility.

Anyway, thanks in advance - and keep on fighting the good fight against lousy hosting companies.

This would in most cases need to be handled by support by putting in a ticket.  Thanks you for your interest in Lunarpages and if there is anything else we can do for you please feel free to let us know.

Alright. Thank you for the clarification.

After sleeping on it I suppose that since I don't use it all too often I could live with doing it through support personnel.
