I know this is a hard one, but before I signup I would like to know from present users what are the most negative issues on Lunapages.

I am mostly concern about:
downtime
email delivery
spam protection on the server site not just SpamAssassin
reliability
support

TIA

I've been with Lunarpages for around 8 years now. I've never thought about switching to another hosting company. I think that says a lot. I'm happy with the up-time, the support, and everything else. Thumbs Up

Thank you guys.

Yes,LP has a good reviews and rating, but it's always best to hear directly from the users.

I was with a web hosting company for over 8 years that switched from cPanel to vDeck(problems), when they switched to vDeck3 I terminated all my accounts accumulated over 8 years including my client accounts.

I've had a few problems quickly remedied by LP. Unlike the vDeck3 company, where I spent hours on the telephone with Tech Support and email support.. and problems were never solved.

Anything mechanical with have a glitch. The question you're more interested in, if & when there is a glitch.. Can it be fixed and how long do I have to suffer Confused

Answer is *NO* with LP. I've been with some bad hosting companies constantly checking my site if it is working, did I miss any email, why is PHP working so slowly, why is website loading so slow, etc. etc. LP is really good about getting glitches fixed quickly. Mostly I don't even think about LP(good thing) as the servers(hosting/email/PHP/etc. have been very quick and reliable.

I have no problems making a fuss when there is a problem. With LP, I haven't had anything to really fuss or complain. On another thread you will see where I had a concern about a yellow blinking light on the Nestor server. The light is now green. It was a concern not a problem. Just giving you an example that nothing is 100% perfect. Otherwise; the several accounts I have with LP including my client accounts transferred are stable and website loads quickly, email gets sent and received reliably.

Another thing to keep in mind. There is an LP TOS(terms of service), my goal on shared servers is always not max out or even come close to maxing out the TOS. LP does have safe guards for violating the TOS that can shut your site down as safeguards to protect others on the same shared servers. If I even think any of my accounts will get close to the TOS, I will transfer it to a VPS or Dedicated long before it ever becomes an issue on a Shared server. Keeping this in mind my experience, little to no problems and reliable hosting with Lunarpages Very Happy

I have been with Lunarpages for some years, and am always amazed by the free and dedicated support that I get. I have been with a couple of other companies, e.g. the other hosting company where the service was abysmal, they lost me an important domain name and they generally stink. I have also tried an UK operation, where the support was very good, but the cost was  considerably higher, and I moved this to lunarpages.
Points out of ten for Lunarpages? probably 9.9

I'm new to LP, just signed up my first account on this hosting service (because I have to say I've only heard good things about LP).  However, my first experiences haven't been so good.  Just a warning to anyone who needs to re-route email that is already set-up at another hosting service to work with your LP hosting account, it's something that should be simple that somehow ended up taking 3 days to get right (if it is right now for that matter) so make sure that you do it at a time when your client or you can be without their email for a few days (from my experience this is something that normally takes 1/2 day for the info to update).  Since LP won't let you update the CNAMES yourself, you have to submit a ticket to the support desk (and wait for them to make the updates... correctly).  In fact, you can't even view the configured CNAMES on LP to make sure they are setup correctly.  Anyway, I ended up having to contact support here and at the other hosting service a dozen times to get this straightened out because the LP support reps kept entering the info incorrectly, first entering CNAMES in as MX records, then entering the info incorrectly in the CNAMES twice, which I only found out by contacting the other hosting service several times (because it can take 24-48 hours for the info to update completely) and my client was without their email working properly throughout this process.
So in the future, I will think twice before setting up LP hosting for a client who already has email setup somewhere else.
