I currently have a shared hosting account.  Im looking to purchase more server space.  What are my options to buy more space WITHOUT paying $100 a month with a dedicated plan.

thanks

More space? You actually filled up the 1500 gigs a Basic shared plan comes with? You can either go to a Business plan with unlimited space or use 2 Basic plans with similar domain names together.

Do not look at the cPanel server stats -- they apply to the whole server, not just your account. If it says that /home is 89% full, that doesn't mean that your account is almost out of space. cPanel will tell you how much space you're using, and how much you're permitted (some accounts haven't been updated yet to reflect the 1500 GB limit... open a support ticket if yours is still at 250 or 350 GB and you need more space).

Don't forget that the AUP requires that everything stored on your account be related to the business (mission) of your site(s) -- no using it for PC backups and such.

Wow! FWIW, mine (server mizar) still shows 250000 MB (250 GB). You didn't misread 1000 Megabytes as 1000 Gigabytes, did you? Amounts are still given in megs (at least on my server). You must have quite a site... I can't imagine someone being able to produce that much data, at least not without hitting bandwidth or CPU load limits!

Disk Space Usage     99134.38 Megabytes  -- So wait! have i been reading this wrong all along? Confused

Disk space available     1436865.62 Megabytes

Bandwidth really isnt an issue, nor is CPU usage.

If they offer the space, I'll use it for my site  Grinning

EDIT: according to google 1 terabyte = 1 048 576 megabytes .  So it appears that im approaching 100 Gigs??

ahhh man!! i really need to get this straight Confused

You're closing in on 100 GB out of 1500 GB (maybe a little more or less, depending on what a "mega" byte is). Not yet time to panic...
