I manage two dedicated servers in two different locations with different ISPs and one thing when testing download speed.

If I start on one of them it goes up to 500K/s but than I start downloading on the second server and the download speed drops on the first.

So, my point is that some people might of gotten slow speed because someone might have been downloading already and the channel was busy. But this is just my theory.

Just tested this and was getting anywhere from 690KB/s up to 840KB/s but it averaged around 770KB/s so I'd have to say that the download speeds are pretty darn good.

From Montreal, Canada, I was able to download the 5mb file at 640k/sec

I'm trying my luck on the 100mb file right now and it's pretty steady at over 700k/sec

Like Nguoikhonglo in Vietnam, I'm getting around 15kB/s from South Africa. LunarPages' hosting is the best offer I can find anywhere but, at those speeds, I won't be able to host anything for local visitors. In fact, some of the icons for this page haven't even finished loading yet! I'm on a 4Mbps DSL connection here. I really wish I could find a way around this problem, 'cause the hosting packages are very attractive, especially compared to our local ripoff artists.

It seems to me that when doing this test that you would be testing the download speed of the slowest server / router on the connection (Prob your ISP).

Hi Betaruce, their isn't an actual way to test the upload speed without having an account, however if you were to sign up and were unhappy with the upload speed, you have 30 days to get a full moneyback guarantee.

I created a web page for anyone that is interested in testing Lunarpages download speed.

The page can be accessed by going to http://www.lunarpages.com/speedtest/

Feel free to post your results in this thread.

Enjoy! Smile
