Hi there,
I'm about to build a site for a store. I was just wondering if there's a good free CMS that lets you put in a photo, product name and product info. I'm not looking into shopping carts just yet.
I was going to use tables but I think that could get really messy if you need to remove and add a product in the middle of a table instead of at the end.

If there isn't a free one, is there a cheap one?

I just thought, maybe I should modify a photo gallery CMS so it looks like a catalog. I'd rather not do that though.

Might take a look at Joomla.  Out of all of 'em out there, I think it might be the most flexible for what you want to do.

Are you looking for just an online catalog to display the store products, but not do any actual selling on line? I would think that any shopping cart could handle that without modification. Just define a "stock" quantity of 0 for each item, and not "back orderable". This should prevent anyone from trying to add the item to their cart. You might, in addition, tweak the code a bit so that the "add to cart", "view shopping cart", and "go to checkout" buttons are not shown. In the future, if you wish to sell from this online store, everything will be in place to easily and quickly cut over to online sales. Just a thought...
