is there such a thing as a <NOBR> tag, or something that will make it so a multiple word link won't split to go down to the next line?

How about a non breaking space (underscore)in the same colour as the background? Like this code no<font color="#FFFFFF">_</font>break

tried that... it didn't work right. here's the link, maybe you guys can take a look at it and recommend some sort of way to keep it all on one like per link. here the layout is far from complete, I'm just trying to work on the link part right now, so please nothing about the 'text-factor' thanks [ July 21, 2001: Message edited by: VirtualDisplacement ] [ July 21, 2001: Message edited by: VirtualDisplacement ]

I get "Page can't be displayed" for both links.
In what way didn't it work right? I'm intrigued. You did replace each space with it & set it to your chosen colour, I take it.
So how did you solve it?

I don't know why there is a page can not be displayed... it seems to work fine with me.
anyway, since I had it set up in tables, I did the background color filler space thing, and that didn't seem to work, so I tried a bunch of things, and in one of my attempts I made the right table (body) have a width, and it seems to work fine now. But thanks for your help and everything.

I've seen what you're on about now VDisp, I didn't realise you were talking about a link in a side pane, I assumed you were simply referring to a line of text as a link (within a larger document).
Jacklyn, that's ok, I haven't submitted it to this forum for review yet anyway. I intend to give it a facelift when I transfer it to the LP servers, then I may submit it. Good to know you're an animal lover btw.

Thanks for the compliments. Does there seem to be a problem about the "text-factor" with the site? I've been told that the font seems a bit small with a res above 1280. I'm going for a simplistic approach with very few images. Thanks again for the compliments.

Yeah the font is too small i'm afraid. And you really should use a lighter grey, it's way too dark, hard to read. Nice site.
