I've never been worried about my web site design after I last updated it, but since I haven't been raking in money with google adsense I've been worried about my site. I talked with a guy on another site that has given me some good suggestions to help increase # of viewings and small things like meta tags, but I'd like to read some articles on web site design and see if I can't make it looker sharper or more up to date. I'd like to just edit HTML/CSS, not necessarily redo the whole site in Flash. Thanks!!

I have some tips these should be avoid :-

Don't use image backgrounds.
Don't distract your visitors with blinking or scrolling text, animated GIFs, or auto-loading sound.
Don't annoy your visitors with pop-up windows.

To learn the basics, I would suggest checking out w3schools.com.  They have tons of tutorials there. Smile

I'm a small fish in a big pond but I still have 2 cents!  Surprised

I say even more important than meta tags - is content. Good, content rich sites will naturally be picked up by search engines. I have a site that's content rich & regularly updated, & everytime I add a new page to the site, it shows in Google's top rankings (usually page 1) within a couple of weeks (after the next crawl).
