+ cPanel Upgrade Problems - Aug 28 (Please Read!)

Post Edited by Mitch

Hi

My sites www.paulcull.org and www.avivamentoja.com are suddenly generating 500 Internal Errors for no apparent reason.. I haven't done updates on them recently.

I've opened a support ticket but wonder if anyone else is having the same problem.

My sites are hosted on gemini.

I am afraid this is a topic we may not be able to help you with here on the forums.  I would recommend contacting support@lunarpages.com to talk with the Lunarpages support team about this issue.  If you have any questions on how best to use these forums please see the green forum rules link in my signature.

I've been told that it's because of security updates which are happening at the moment (I stupidly replied to a previous post of mine with this info... old age is obviously getting to me).

The "500 Internal Server Errors" MAY be the result of an attack on your website and/or webserver.

My logs show that someone(s) has sent ugly code into my site in what Google describes as an "SQL injection."

Check your logs and IF, among the recent visitors, for example, you see this following in the URL string:

     http://www.yoursite.com/.../?;DECLARE%20@S%20CHAR(4000);SET%20@S=CAST(0x4445434C415245...

And if your site is down, you've probably been hacked.

I can now get into CPanel, which I couldn't previously...

I hope that's a good sign...

Check your logs. Did your server start reporting 500 errors to visitors within the last 24 hours, perhaps last night?

If so, suspect the effect of an security upgrade.

What type of code are you using on your website, a PHP package, perhaps?

I'm getting it too on losi.  Well, maybe not losi itself, but whatever I have that runs the databases.  Nothing that uses PHP is working, but pure html is fine.  I'm submitting a ticket for it.

I am on heze and I get them only on my .php pages http://www.elitestreetsmagazine.com/magazine/2008/jan-mar/cover.php

My e-mail is down also. Both started shortly after 5:30pm CST.

I think they are doing a security update, but heze wasn't schduled until the 28th.... hmmmm...  Confused

I'm have the problem too.  Started in the last few hours.  When I go to check the sql db's via control panel, I get lots and lots of:

error    : Table './zzz_smf2/smf_calendar' was created with a different version of MySQL and cannot be read zzz.smf_calendar_holidays

Heading to open ticket now.

My site, http://www.tankadin.com/ went offline with this error...

[Wed Aug 27 20:59:09 2008] [error] [client 220.181.61.225] File does not exist: /home/tanka3/public_html/500.shtml
[Wed Aug 27 20:59:09 2008] [error] [client 220.181.61.225] Premature end of script headers: /home/tanka3/public_html/index.php

I am only able to get into cPanel intermittently so I think there is something going on at lunarpages.
