I REALLY want to use this Gallery software on my website and I just can't understand the instructions to install it on my server so I can use it for my web site.  Can ANYONE help me out with this?

Thanks,
Don Help

While this might not be helpful, I can put strong good words in for the free jalbum (www.jalbum.net) for photo album work.

It is really easy to use, and the included chameleon skin includes things like a direct link to some printers (shutterfly for example) in case your friends or family want to order prints, as well as a paypal interface in case you want to sell pictures.

The only thing is I would use a dedicated ftp program instead of the integrated one, which times out uploading to my website a bit to often for my tastes.  Supposedly, they are working on it.  Either way, the price is right, and the community is helpful.

All of the software is on the web builder side.  It sets up the pages and then you upload them.  No mysql or anything required.

How are you trying to install it? If you know nothing about running a Web site and are trying to manually build and install Gallery from an uploaded tarball or something, you're asking for trouble. If you're using cPanel > Fantastico scripts to install Gallery, it should be pretty simple. As Mitch asked, what have you done and where are you stuck? I don't use Gallery and probably can't answer the question, but probably someone else can.

I am going to give this jalbum a try.  I was getting stuck just trying to get it installed at all.  Fantastic used to have Coppermine Photo Gallery as an option but they removed it from my options and I really loved how it was really easy to use and already installed on my server.  I saw that "Gallery" was the same type of layout where you could create multiple albums and what not and was hoping to use that.  But since I'd have to install it manually, i don't know enough about code to know if my website would be FUBAR if I tried it myself.

I'll give this jalbum a try though.  Thanks so much for the feedback.
