I managed to taost the entire mysql database while upgradding vbb to 3.7.0
I can't do a back up from a backup I made about 6 months ago which is better then no back up at all since it is 238mb and 50mb is the max size for restores. I tried sending a message to the help desk but even though I am logged onto my account through lunarp[ages and click the help button it does not recoginize me. tech service is no longer available on the weekends I guess. any thoughts on how I can restore my backuped database in the meantime?
one last question, does lunarpages do periodic mirror backups of websites? if that's the case I can just get ahold of tech support on monday and ask them to restore my sql databases from an earlier backup.
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Email / helpdesk support is still available on weekends , however the support login in no longer associated with your account username and password. (phone support is not available on weekends, however this particular issue is best handled in a support ticket)

To recover helpdesk login:
1. Click on reset password at support.lunarpages.com
2. Put in email address associated with your helpdesk account
3. This will change to a page with an input box, do NOT navigate away from this page.  You will then              be emailed a security code (which is what you attempted to use)
4. Check email, get security code, input code into the input box you see on step 3
5. Now your password is reset, and you will be sent your new password.
6. Close browser, reopen browser and go to support.lunarpages.com
7. Use the email address and the new password emailed to you to login
.
.
Backups:
Concerning backups, backups are made of all accounts, however restores, unless you have the premium restore services, may require a fee as it has to be recovered off of tapes (which I understand is extensive process)
.
.
Import of large database backup:

If you want your large database backup imported, Upload the sql backup to your site,  contact support via the helpdesk (support.lunarpages.com) or via email (support@lunarpages.com) to have the database imported.

Make sure to include security verification, database name, database username, and database password, and if the database already exists, if you want it overwritten.

superior answers bro. I am awiting the confirm of my pass reset right now. I did already upload the 6 month old version of my sql database so will have them import that if necessary. hate to lose 6 months but that's what I get for not doing the backup of the db before upgrading. newborn babies will do that to you, make you think you did something when you were too tired to remember if you did or didn't.
I don't pay for just a regular membership I have a much higher level of service then that. been with lunarpages since 3 months after max created the business so not going anywhere.
remember folks, backup that database before doing work on it or upgrading to it.
thanks for the answers bro, it's mother's day here and I am wasting all morning of it trying to fix my board when I should be doting on mama Smile

incredible tech support as always. look folks, this is why you go with, and stay with lunarpages. I have been with them 10 years for a reason. I completely f'd up one of mysql databases completely wiping it clean. in less then 4 hours I had it completely restored and up and running as if it never happened. over 15 emails back and forth to tech support on mother's day no less.
speaks for itself. anyone doubting then take a look at how huge my discussion board is and you will see what I mean.
big thumbs up, once again, to lunarpages and staff...

Glad that got worked out for you.

Personally, I use crons for backing up everything,  good script at http://www.lunarforums.com/lunarpages_how_tos/site_and_mysql_backups_via_cron-t22118.0.html   works in most cases.
