I'm excited too! Good luck everyone! Here's a little about my site... I started off as a complete n00b about everything but managed to muddle my way through to bring my idea of having a motorsports news aggregator site to fruition. I began with Front Page but shortly after getting started a few months ago, realized the site was totally messed up in Firefox so I completely redid it from scratch with Microsoft Expressions Web. I evaluated several technologies for getting RSS feeds onto my html pages but couldn't comprehend most of them so ended up using the services from rss-info.com to accomplish what I was trying to do. I did all my own graphics and stuff in CorelDraw & PhotoPaint. The whole thing is supposed to be kind of humorous and snarky. As a huge fan of all types of racing, I knew I needed a forum to go with my site. I evaluated SMF because it was free but ended up purchasing vBulletin instead. Again, not knowing what the heck I was doing and with vBulletin having a zillion different options, I somehow fumbled my way through setting up a forum that will hopefully grow into a decent community. The forums are heavily tilted toward motorcycle stuff because I ride a 900 Ninja and have had bikes all my life. One thing I have learned is that keeping the website updated, even though the headlines are always fresh, and running the fourms and trying to get them going and keep them interesting takes hella amounts of time. Hat's off to Lunarpages for making it all relatively painless. So, in today's political climate, I encourage everyone to Vote for Me! My name is UberDoober and I approve this message (and yes, I'm a chick)

Most of my site, FootballBunker.com, requires one to set up an account, so I have created a temporary guest account so you can check it out. Username: lunarguest password: lunarguest Hope you will give it a go. It may not be as flashy as the other well-design sites, but it has, at least from my perspective, some pretty nice features. If the site interest you, please feel free to create your own account and have some fun during the upcoming football season. For the programmers/developers out there, the site is built using Java servlets/XML/XSLT. The data is stored in a MySQL database and an XSLT filter is applied to the output of the JSP pages which transforms the XML into HTML. At the very least, it demonstrates the rather impressive features offered by Lunarpages Basic Hosting plans.

OK...Here's my blurb. :O)
First of all let me say that TheWyvernManor.Com is my very first web site and I entered this competition completely on impulse! When I started it a month or two ago I didn’t have the slightest idea how build a web site, but I figured that it would be fun to give my gaming group (which I started in 2007) a place on the web. It was quite a challenge and actually a rather fun experience (I like puzzles!). So, after a lot of trial and error, research on the net and posts to various forums, here it is!
BTW, it was supposed to be small! :O)
Because the site is non-commercial, designed for a bunch of gamers and not the general public, it decided to give it a game-like/fantasy ambiance, thus the more linear style (enter via the door and follow the various paths of discovery), the pseudo “Old English” language, the introduction of the manor guard (have you tried the small door yet?), the steampunkesque (is that a word?) Vanarian Ambaric Window (on the “Denizens” page), illuminated letters and the many fantasy/gaming related features on the site.
Once past the doors, initial entry into the site is supposed to be a kind of puzzle and that is why there are no labels on the dragon navigation squares. You have to mouse over them (like a secret door) to find out where they might take you.
The site has a lot of graphics. That is due to the fact that I’m a professional artist and…well…I work with pictures more that words.
The site will be updated frequently (especially the “News and Reviews” and “Calendar” sections) so stop by again!
Thanks!
Lianna :O) TheWyvernManor.Com

Well, just when you want things to be neat and tidy... My server (HAU) was updated today and now my forum is completely down. The main website is working fine but my forum, which is the part of my site I care about most is completely dead. (ticket# 910359) What was I saying about great LP was?

I just noticed that I can also vote now! I just made my 6th post! Will it be unfair to vote for myself? OK, I won't - but guys please vote (preferably for my site), only two days to go... By the way, any Simmers around to support a very kind community member? It's more than obvious I think that my site is about the Sims, more specifically about Sims 2 but decided to leave "a window open" because Sims 3 will come out and may want to expand a bit... I am not a web desinger or an artist or what's so ever. I just love the game and wanted my personal touch in it. So I started learning image editing and 3D in order to create my very own objects. Then I started sharing these objects with the community and finally decided to have my own site. This of course meant learning little something about creating webpages and so on. I am still a roockie but I google a lot and most of the times I get my answers/solutions. I am not always successful with the implementation of these solutions but I keep trying Anyway, have a look and let me know what you think of my site by voting for me!!!
