What's the difference between a dash - and a hyphen -? Did you mean underscore _?

Generally most of the people used hypen in their site rather than dash.
but i think dash looks good.

Thanks and Regards,

The hyphen is still better, as I see it, but by a slim margin.

Google has traditionally considered the underscore as a true character and not a separator. They did this so people can directly search on technical keywords that contain the underscore character, such as _borders or mod_rewrite.

Google has done some fancy dancing in more recent times, in order to use the relevance signals that are present in underscore separated file names. However the hyphen still seems to have a slight edge. It's not enough of a difference to bother changing established urls, but if you're creating a new file, I see hyphens as the way to go.

By the way, don't be misled by the way words are presented in bold on the final SERP. That's a simple character-match routine, run after the SERP is generated for a query. It does not indicate that the bolded word was actually used in the scoring.

I prefer not to use hyphen on my domain name.

For instance, I will rather have "myworld.com" instead of "my-world.com".

Using a hyphen in your URL is perfectly fine though.

I use hypen for my site. I think hypens are used more as compared to dash.

Underscores are not SEO friendly, therefore smart SEO experts use dash or hyphens because it is SEO friendly and majority of people love to use these dashes or hyphen. Therefore in my opinion never use underscores because it can hurt your URL structure.

There's no big difference between a dash & a hyphen, but a hyphen(--) is used to join two or more words together and a dash (-) separates words in statement. It's better to use dash or hyphen rather than underscore in URL to make it SEO friendly.
