Is there anyone out there that runs Dolphin Community software on the lunarpages shared hosting plan, WITH Orca Forums running and working??

I been having issues running it, and support told me that they have some clients that run dolphin on the same plan I have.  I want to hear from you and compare some notes...

tried that, but nothing much mentioned.  I am having a problem with the forums working, and since I am on shared hosting, no way to get the issue fixed - I think they have to recompile some basic php settings.

Dolphin is a community software from Boonex - Much like myspace, facebook, youtube etc..  all in one  .

There is problem running it on my lunarpages host, due to the forums, groups and classifieds not being able to work due to some compiler issue that Lunarpages states is working and installed, and Boonex states is not working and/or not installed.

Without it, the software cannot run to its full potential -

The key issue I find with Boonex is the permissions you need to set up initially, there is no cron to chown all the files and directories that need to be changed when you perform the initial setup (unless they have changed this in their recent release).  If everything is not configured properly it will not operate.  We have several customers using this system on our servers and after the initial setup was completed and all components were correct then they were able to run their site.  The best thing I can suggest is to look up errors on Boonex forums then cross reference our forums if there is a particular feature you need to operate.

Can you view my previous support emails on this issue?  Dolphin will not allow you to continue installation UNTIL you have the directories set to their permissions needed to run, whether it be 777, 666 or whatever - install will not continue without it being correct.  As I stated, Boonex tells me it is the XSLT processor here - They checked into it for a few days - server and software wise - so what else do you suggest -

Have you shared these errors with support?  If you have a current ticket, I would suggest pointing them here so they can take a look at this for you.

INdeed i have - they tell me all the necessary compilers are in place and working - we went round and round between support @ lunar and boonex - Although, Boonex tells me Lunar does not have the XSLT compiler running or not compiled with -DOM or something.

Here is the thread with Boonex forums I have discussed:  http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/?action=goto&topic_id=Error-in-forum

Have you shown the LP support what the Boonex people told you or vice versa?

for almost 2 weeks straights - Boonex tells me I need the XSLT compiler - and Lunar tells me it is all working, and in fact, compared the spec sheet required to run Dolphin / ORca and they told me that they have equal or better PHP running.

Could you give me your LP ticket number?  Might be easier for me to see what has happened that way. Smile
