Well do you? Mitch introduced me to Twitter and I have to say I was leery at first at the idea of posting my thoughts or what I am doing online. However, I have found that it has increased traffic to my full time RVing blog,
http://dangrv.com . People are finding me on Twitter and I see if I mention a cool product, the manufacturer suddenly starts following me automatically. If I use my best keywords, I get even more traffic to my blog. It's interesting. Also, twittering helps me remember what I have done so I can add it to my blog later.
One great example of using Twitter for a business is Antelope Island State Park in Utah. I happen to be near them at the moment so I am following them on Twitter. Why? Because they use Twitter to announce their ranger-led programs. Who wouldn't want to spend some time under the stars learning about them on a summer evening or walk and learn about the buffaloes on the island? And hey, it costs money to get into the park so they win too.
I see other businesses use it to mention special sales or coupons. Me likey coupons!
I wish more campgrounds and camping groups would use Twitter and Facebook to announce their activities and include their IDs in camp book listings.
I think RSS feeds are pretty great too for getting traffic and keeping up relationships between sites and users. I like them better than emails. I like anything that comes to me rather than me having to remember to go to them. I'm not lazy just busy.
