I am curious to hear and see what your favorite method is to market or get the word out about your web site? Do you like... Self promotion, where you go out and talk about your site to others. SEO, where you get the best results you can for the keywords based around your domain and web site? Paid advertising, where you pay other people to display your web site ads or to mention you on their sites? Word of mouth, where you rely on the power of the people to spread your web site link around? The last one there is probably my favorite, although I do like playing around in search engine optimization too so I can get more results from there too. How about you?

Since our site is for our local community we had business cards made up and pass them out to the people at meetings we attend. We love the looks on our politicians faces when we show up with our recorders and note pads! We also go on our local online newspaper and post comments, with the site address, in the blog area that deals with the article that our site has more detailed info on. For the most part though it is word of mouth that gets them coming in to see what scandal we are reporting on. Since we live in Louisiana there is no shortage of scandal!

we are doing work on organic SEO--we continue to tweak our sites, page titles, URLs, content. We have launched some programs to increase the number f backlinks. For our local clients, we are signing up for google's local small business service and running geo targeted adwords. There is lots of good stuff for small local businesses

I always find it Soo oooooooooo funny to get email spam from "SEO Companies" telling me how great they are and how they can "drastically improve" my SE rating. Only to go take a look at their sites and find their Google page ranking is zero BOY does that make me giggle

Search engine optimization is my favorite way to promote my business online. Cost per click advertising also worth using as well. I don't use social media marketing because there are too many competitors in social marketing.

In regards to marketing my site I spend a lot of time placing my videos onto video sharing sites. There are so many sites other than and including You Tube. I label my videos with the key word that I think people will search for. If someone does a search that matches my video title it comes up. Sometimes I get multiple results of Google's page one...same video, same title, different video sharing sites.
