When do we get PHP 5.4?

When do we get PHP 5.4?

Right now all my accounts with Lunarpages are running PHP 5.3.26.

I don't see anything on the Lunarpages Cpanel. Last time when there was a major PHP upgrade, I found Lunarpages instructions on update PHP by modifying the ".htaccess" file.

Reason I'm asking is that on another webhost company & website I'm running PHP 5.4.38 with no problems with my PHP scripts.
When will Lunarpages update to PHP 5.4.x? or is their a fix that we can do as previously by modifying an ".htaccess" file?
Some of my PHP scripts says that they will not be supporting PHP 5.3.x after May 15, 2015. {End of Life Cycle for PHP 5.3.x }

Sad, there was a time when someone cared... but it has been years since I used this forum when response time was very quick.

Yes, PHP needs to be upgraded quickly please.

I need for it to be upgraded on Cerebus server or i'm going to need to switch hosts.

You can see here on the PHP website that PHP 5.3 is no longer supported:

I have already planned to switch web host now... whether or not they upgrade upgrade PHP version. Previously Lunarpages was getting top marks from online  web hosting reviews. This is how I first found Lunarpages.

I still get quick support through the Helpdesk. Got a reply overnight, and they're moving my domains to a new server with PHP 5.4

We do have both PHP 5.4 and 5.5 servers available, you would just need to contact support (open a helpdesk ticket) and make that request.

Can we assume that all servers will eventually be upgraded to at least 5.4? I would hope that's in the plans, as no one in their right mind will want to stay at very old levels. If a few customers want or need to stay at back level PHP due to old applications, that should not force other customers to use old PHP. Those needing to stay at old levels should be moved to their own server.

All servers will be upgraded but due to the large number we have we do not have ETA's for when all servers will be done. All remaining PHP 5.3 servers are patched and secure however, if user's have a script that require a newer version to function we can get them migrated to another server upon request so that the shouldn't need to wait.

Just joining the pack here... I just installed Wordpress 4.2.4  (manually, not with softaculous) and not having PHP 5.4 causes a lot of http 500 errors.

The odd thing is that Softaculous (available in CPanel) promotes Wordpress 4.2.4 ... so, just out of consistency, we should get PHP 5.4   :smiling:

O.

Because Lunarpages has been so slow in upgrades to now PHP 5.5, I've already requested that 2 of my accounts to be closed.

Some of the PHP scripts require PHP 5.4 or 5.5 and listed as compatible with Lunarpages; however, these programs crash because LP is still with 5.3. While these PHP scripts work with no problem well on another web hosting company that I have other domains.

I did write in to customer support. I've been with LP; since, 2007. After 8 years, it's time to leave LP.
No regrets, back in 2007 LP was considered one of the top web hosting company

As far as I'm concerned, it still is.   :yey:

I terminated all 3 of my hosting sites with LP. I'm just waiting for the last domain to expire.
It sure did take long for them to update PHP.

Too late, I already cancelled all my accounts with LP, when the last domain expires.. that's it.

LP was okay for the time I was with them, but they got over confident and there are other companies that are just as reliable or more reliable than LP that wanted my business.
There were some really good aspects about LP, that if LP was as good as they were when I first started with them.. I never would have left.
