I'm trying to setup a forum to have a little fun with on my site.  I know a little about sql and php.  Might any of you have a little time to give me some starter tips.  I can't seem to get this thing up and don't have the first idea where to start.  I got it installed on the server but that's about it.  What now?

jonnyfive, since the C-Panel has been updated to include the installation of phpBB, I would delete the XMB forum and install phpBB, because XMB 1.6 has major security flaws, one being that someone can force your cookie onto their pc and login as you, and will have total access to your board.

Once again, I figured it out.  Now what about changing some of the display stuff like i did in xmb?  How would i change the logo for phpbb?  I didn't find an option to do this in the admin panel?

http://www.phpbb.com

is a wealth of information, and has a considerable amount of "hacks", either official or in development, for the forum.  Their forums get alot of activity and they tend to be pretty helpful from what I've seen.

To answer the specific question:  The main logo is located at "*your forum directory*/templates/subSilver/images/logo_phpBB.gif".  To change it you can just rename your pic to logo_phpBB.gif and overwrite the old one.  I'd recommend backing things up first though.  There is also a mod at phpbb.com that adds the sort of thing you're asking about to the admin panel, I think.

Take the logo that you made, or will be making, and name it the same name as the logo that you want to replace. Make sure that it is saved in the same format as the logo you want to change.

Then just delete the old from the server side, and upload yours.
