hi all. heres the problem. I run a new webdesign company with a friend. I have the money he has the knowhow ( I think) hes told me we MUST have more SQL's.   1 for a shoutbox, 1 for a forum and 1 for a "login" !! Im guessing the "logins" so people can 'login' and share graphics stuff !! do we REALLY need all that or is there some other way of doing any of it without buying more SQL's ? HOPE this makes sense to someone    "[Frown]"

Why can't he just use different tables in the MySQL Database?  Unless he wants different Databases for security reasons, there shouldn't be a reason as to why he needs 3.  My current host only offers me 1 Database and I have about 6 different sets of tables in there.

That's right.

You can just connect to the same database.

As long as all the scripts use different table names, they will all run fine together.

You should use a different username and password for each script though.

Well, since all my scripts are tied together, I decided to create one table to store usernames and passwords.  That way each script can reference this one table.  Saves coding table as each script utilizes the same initializition functions.

From my experience,

If you want to setup phpBB forum from CPANEL, it requires a new database. Where our plan only provide 1. So if you have create one database, you won't be able to create a phpBB forum in CPANEL. So as PhpMyChat.

The trick is to setup phpBB first. Then get the name of the database phpBB has created and use it for other purposes.
