Hi,
Whats the best solution for writing a php script to detect if a certain page was indexed by google (not the number of indexed pages - for this I have a solution)
also is there any suggestions for a php script for last crawl date of a page?
Thanks

Hey,

I am not too sure about it myself, but you could check out the Google's webmaster tools. I hope this helps.
Cheers.

As the googlebot uses a specific referrer in the request header, it is easy enough to base an action of the referrer coding

Are you saying that the OP could just check for the googlebot ("referer") and record the date? I would caution that a visit by googlebot does not automatically translate into that page being indexed, just as visit by Santa could mean a lump of coal in your stocking...

Mr. Phil, you are right that this would only tell you if the page had been crawled not if Google considered the page naughty or nice.
