I'm using PHPBB 2.0.2 and have noticed that when I use the characters

to show up at the bottom of the screen. This is frequently accompanied with an exceptionaly wide screen with horizontal scroll bars.

The forum is heavily customized at this point, yet when I loaded the same files/code on a different server I could not replicate the same enigma. does anyone have any ideas what would cause this to happen?
