I am so clueless about this stuff, I don't even know if I'm in the right forum for this question. Having said that...

I'm in the process of switching from another host to Lunar Pages. I used cPanel with my other host and had an XMB forum. Is there an easy way to switch it over to my new site here? I uploaded it and tried to create a new forum with the same name, but it isn't working (probably for obvious reasons that aren't obvious to me).

Can you help me???? "[confused]"

xmb isn't offering a board at this time. Version 1.6 is so flawed with security porblems, which they knowingly ignored. This resulted in 100's of xmb boards being hacked. You can't even access the xmb forums or register.
If you want a decent free board, try phpBB or yabb+the mod fixes.

Lunarpages does not offer XMB anymore. We replaced it with phpBB.

Any new boards installed will be phpBB.. If you have an exsisting XMB board. I suggest you replace it with phpBB.

I posted this in another thread but I'll add it here too.

It installs XMB instead of phpBB.  When I click on the upgrade to phpBB link I get an error message(I'm on venus server.)  Will this be fixed soon?

I am considering moving my site to Lunarpages. On my present site I use a YaBB message board. Is there a YaBB to phpBB converter?

For anyone having trouble:

Go download phpBB and install it yourself.  You only have to set a few settings, it pretty much installs itself.  Just make sure you know your databse name and database username.

Here's how mine turned out:  hikagoyaoi.org forum

yes, go to http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php
Down near the bottom of the page, there are two sections with upgrades, depending on which version you have.  I haven't used the upgrade, so I can't account for it.

But I do like the board.  Between the phpbb site, and phpbbhacks.com you can find alot of information on how to customize and modify the board to suit your needs.
