".forward file"
« on: February 11, 2007, 05:15:59 PM »
Hi,

I am looking to work on an email application project which would require java code to be executed when an email arrives. To trigger the java code, I believe I would need to update the ".forward file" to point to my java script. Do I have access to the ".forward" file? would a need a specific plan to have access? please note - I am not just forwarding to another email address, I need to run a script when an incoming email arrives.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe

I would suggest that you use the filter section of cPanel, note that the script would need to designed in such a way that you can pipe the information to your script, i.e. "|/home/user/path/script"

You may want to review the home site for SpamAssassin where you can find many suggestions on user defined filters. http://spamassassin.apache.org/
