Title: SSD Options for basic hosting
Post by: dknife on November 26, 2013, 08:09:04 AM
Long time LP member here so not exactly a "pre-sales" questino but appropriate question for this forum.

Is LunarPages looking at adding a SSD option for their basic hosting? There are more and more hosting companies offering the option for only a small amount extra per month and for those of us whom use little data but desire fast response and mysql query time, I'd gladly pay extra per month for it.

I just took a quick swim through the hosting plans, and didn't see any mention of SSD. I doubt you would see this offered on a standard plan shared server, but you might open a ticket with Sales and see if they offer upgraded shared servers, VPS, dedicated, or perhaps cloud with SSD.

Hi David,
Thanks for the question. I have passed it on to management and have noted your account. Currently we do not offer SSD on our servers, however, in the future if we decide to, we will let you know.

There are a few direct competitors offering SSD plans on standard shared hosting. Reviews and research aside, going to a similar/cheaper hosting is very much a gamble as to response, speed and reliability and I've always been extremely happy with LunarPages standard hosting for my sites. Thus I want to continue here for the long term.

Thanks Greg, appreciate the response.
