I am in the process of creating a completely new web site. I currently have a web site hosted here at Lunarpages and I am completely satisfied with the service. My question is when setting up a new domain here, do I need to do it as if I were a brand new Lunarpages subscriber, or do I get a discount or need to follow some other steps in setting up the new website?

This new site will be completely independent of my current site.

Cheers  "[brows]"

You can add a second domain to your existing account.

Domains registered through lunarpages are $14.95 per year.

To make the domain point to a different directory would cost you $2.50 per month.

Once you have done this, you will have 1 CPanel login, but 2 websites on your account.

I have the domain getting registered already elsewhere as I can get it a bit cheaper.

The site will have a different domain name and like I said, the only ties it would have to my current site is that I am the designer of the site, so I want it to have all the same options my current site has and not tied to the current site.

Sounds like I will just register the new site hosting as a new user even tho I am currently a LP customer.

It's up to you.

You don't have to have 2 accounts, but if the account is for someone else, then it might be best.

No, the site isn't for someone else. It will be my creation and I will maintain it.

I guess what I am really looking for here is the ability to have two seperate sites and get one at a discounted rate since I am already a LP customer.

If that is possible, cool, thats the way I obviously want to go. I am happy here and don't plan on taking my business elsewhere....

You can add a second website onto your existing account for $2.50 a month.

The $2.50 is a charge for having the domain pointing to a different website.

If you had two domain names pointing to the same website, that would be free.

You do not need to sign up for another account.

So if I do this does the space, and transfers count against my current site or is it a completely different SQL database, directory, ftp and all that??

If you did what I suggested, the $2.50 a month option,

your bandwidth, space, sql databases, etc. would all be shared.

Well, I would rather not share my database or my bandwidth with my current site, so from what I can see I will just set up another account for the new site.

Thanks for the info...

This is along the same lines ( I think).
I am not all that sure about this sort of thing...

I have three websites, all hosted by angelfire. One is medium size (bandwidth will be about 2gig) and the other two are tiny.

I want three separtate domain names, however sharing the same webspace.

I understand I will have to buy 3 domains in total, but I don't understand the $2.50 / month cost. What is this and will it apply in my situation?

So on the standard plan the cost would be:
$7.95/month
$2.50/month
$2.50/month
+$14.95(can't remember this price for sure) x3 for domain names.
=$200.25/year.

Is this correct?
Thanks   "[eyeroll]"

If you wanted all 3 domains to point to the same website, it would be free.

Each domain you add, and that you want to point to a different website, will be $2.50 a month, to get it pointing to a different website.

Does that help?
