Hi,
I currently have the Basic Hosting Plan.  I'm looking into starting a web development business and I'm wondering if that plan will meet my company's needs.  I know that with the Basic Hosting Plan I can have an unlimited number of addon domains.  I will be maintaining some of the websites I develop and what I would like to do is put them under my hosting account as addon domains.  Are there any problems with doing this?
Thanks!

It is against our terms of service for you to host others on your account or provide them with any of the addons such as email accounts, storage, etc. You may develop them on your account but then they must be moved to their own accounts once the sites are live. What you want to look at is our Reseller Plan which does allow you to host others while also keeping master control over them. Please see http://www.lunarpages.com/reseller-hosting/ for more info.

Hi - thanks for your response.  I looked at the reseller info... I'm not really sure that fits my situation.  I'm not looking into selling hosting services.  I'm solely responsible for the sites that I set up and maintain, the client does not access the hosting account in any way.  If the client wants to maintain his own site, I would require that he purhase his own hosting account.  I think my situation is more like what is described in this post, which I found searching your forum

We are pretty strict about that. IF the websites are all yours, no problem. But if they are sites for others, whether you sell it to them or just give them the space, it is not allowed.

Hi - thanks for your response.  So in order to have a website under my basic account, I would need to own the domain and maintain the website.  If someone else owns the domain, a separate hosting account would be required.  Correct?

what's wrong with giving the space of your purchased service? Confused

If we find your basic account hosting others on it in violation of our Terms of Service, we may suspend or terminate the account. Believe me, there are many ways we will find out about it. We provide unlimited space, bandwidth, etc. for each basic account at a very low and reasonable price. Reselling or giving that space away to others would not be fair to us, would increase the costs for equipment, support, etc., and would force us to raise the price to everyone.
