Hiya, people!

From what I can tell from the forums and other referals I've seen on the net, you're the next best thing since sliced bread. And that's exactly what I've been looking for during the past 3 years.

So, my question is: if I decided to broadcast a talk show, is there a way I could do it by hosting my website with you? I've seen that you have realplayer capability, but I would like to know if you support Shoutcast and if this in any way affects CPU usage.

Thanks for your reply

You can let people stream video/audio from our servers, but it wouldn't be possible for it to be live.

We don't support shoutcast, as far as I know.

You can upload a pre-recorded video/audio show and stream it to people.

Thank you, Stephan. That was a very promt reply! Shock.!! First time it has ever happened to me regarding web hosting and domain names.

Anyway, since live streaming is not my main goal, I think I will be joining you very soon. And I also saw that you allow hosting MP3's and video, as long as you're the propietary or have distribution rights, which is actually something that's even better. Still, could you keep me posted if you ever handle live streaming?

Now, I have another question for you, since you seem to be an Oracle that knows it all: I had a domain name with Networksolutions, which I did not renew 'cos I am sick of them. I let that domain expire (exp. date April 4), but now I can't register it anywhere else 'cos they locked it out but it's still registered to my name. Is that their regular policy to force you to pay them $35 buck again? Talking to them doesn't work (and it's expensive, since I'm in Mexico City), so should I wait it out?

Thank you again. And see you soon!

Hi,

We try to be quick. There are a lot of questions to answer Smile

We allow mp3's and any kind of file in fact. Anything. The only limitation is that it has to be legal as defined by California law.

You will have to speak to NetworkSolutions about your domain name. If you choose to wait, you will have a very very very long wait. Domains take a very long time to expire fully.

You can just re-register it with them, and use our nameservers. That will let you use the domain with your webspace for us.

We can transfer it and the your registrar instead of networksolutions, that would be $14.95 per year.

You would still have to contact them first and arrange the release of your domain. You might have to pay any outstanding debts with them before they agree to allow you to tranfer the domain away from them.

We have a tutorial for changing nameservers here: http://www.lunarpages.com/faq/changedomain.html

Again, I am stunned Shock.!! ! You do know it all!

I am reading the faq list, as I am checking out the forums, and I definitely like what I see. I will be setting up my domain with you by the end of the month!

I really appreciate your answers, and I hope you keep up the good work for years and years to come (that's how long I plan on staying with you).

Thanks!
