I was able to switch all of the contact information for my domain name from Feature Price to myself.

I am not hopeful, however that I will be able to manually switch the nameservers- Everything is down and I expect it to stay that way.

Will LunarPages and myself be able to get this transfer done without me going in and changing the nameservers manually?  Once again, all of the contact information for the WhoIs lookup is my own.

Thanks again.  Can't wait to get started.

Usually a modification (such as DNS) is done through the registrar.

I registered with Feature Price, who then passed it to dotregistrar.  I have never been able to get a hold of them (dotregistrar) to be able to login and change nameservers manually.

what do you think?

That's not too good.  I have a customer who's got a domain stuck at dotster and this has been going on for like two weeks.  I guess it's prudent to check out registrars carefully.  I've used registerfly for mine and have been able to just log in and change whatever I want.  You'll probably need to get a hold of them to make the changes.

that's a bad sign.  transfer your domain to a registrar that allows you to control your domain.  i keep seeing situations such as yours where people who bought their domains through the same company that's going to host them and have a ton of trouble when trying to go somewhere else for hosting due to bad service.  i shudder when people want one company to handle domains and hosting service.  you're better off keeping them separate.

when i wanted to manage a site of my own, i purposely got a domain first, then i went and got a hosting service.  i totally lucked out going with the other hosting company as my domain's registrar and lunarpages as my hosting service.  both have been great.  Cool
