Greetings,

We as a guild (http://www.archofchaos.com) are about to sign up for your Premium service. Before I will do so for us, I have a question about domain names.

Because we have to port over the code from full fledged MS ASP to ChiliASP and our database from an MS Access database to MySQL we will do our transfer in two stages:

1. Create an account with domain name 12test.com
2. Port over all code and the database to a subdomain archofchaos.12test.com
3. Test if everything works.
4. Use archofchaos.com as "parked" or "add-on" domain to that subdirectory so when people go visit archofchaos.com/blah.asp they'll actually see the page archofchaos.12test.com/blah.asp (not sure what the difference between a parked and a add-on domain is, perhaps someone could explain a bit.

Now the question I have in mind.. In above setup, what happens with the XXXX@archofchaos.com email adresses (currently redirection adresses)? Will they automagically be seen by the Lunarpages email server as XXXX@12test.com? If not, should I have to "park" or "add-on" archofchaos.com to the topdomain 12test.com for it to work or... won't that still work?

Park domain is that you bought a domain but don't need a web hosting yet and people accessing your domain will see a 'under construction' page instead of 'destination not found'.

Domain alias/pointer - simply POINT the domain to your parent domain. Accessing both domains will show the same pages because they are actually accessing the same files in the same directory structure. 3 domain pointers are free with LunarPages.

Add-On domains are a domain point to a subdirectory of your account giving you the ability to create another web site under another domain name. So accessing this 2 domain will display different pages. it is not free and I forgot how much is it. $2.50/month?   "[confused]"

IF NOT WRONG, you can not create email address under other domains (pointer and add-on) except your parent domain.

OK, I think I make a mistake about the emails of park domains, refer to this thread

http://www.lunarforums.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000950

And also, some people also refer park domains as domain pointers/alias.
