Almost 2 years ago I got the basic plan and I haven't done anything with it Confused  Life got in the way  Sad

My goals were to get a personal web page with the usual stuff, blog pictures stuff about my running, etc, but then I wanted to be able to use it and learn some PHP and slowly develop some skills on web pages and maybe help out the running club or a non-profit.

Are there some tools for basic web hosting, similar to LP Quicksite that can get you going in a few hours, Smiling but then allow you to tinker and expand using the other tools like CoffeeCup?

Thanks for any suggestions.

PageMason should have come with it.(Basic plan), and you could install something such as WordPress which would allow you to update the look, and add content with a few clicks.

Yep, I would recommended PageMason or installing WordPress and playing around with it.  WordPress might be better if you want to eventually start looking under the hood, as far as the themes go and tinkering around with some php.   Thumbs Up

I've never heard of PageMason, but WordPress is pretty simplified and easy to customize. You can get a lot of plugins for it, along with pre-made themes, so it cuts out a lot of the footwork you'd have to do otherwise on your own.

Two different animals. PM is LP's home-built HTML page editor system. Think CoffeeCup or even DreamWeaver. It's available for free to all LP customers. WordPress is a very flexible and expandable blogging/content management system. If WP does the job, use it. If you need more flexibility than that, PM isn't going to help beyond making basic static HTML pages -- you'll need PHP and database skills. If all you want to do are basic static HTML pages, PM would be adequate.
