I represent my child's PTA and am building their website. I found lunarpages from looking at other PTA sites. I would like it to be up and running by November. It's pretty much done. I just need it up on the internet now. Could lunarpages please email me whatever info I need to submit so I can get the site up by November 1st. Thank you.

Given, you are not allowing yourself a time window for testing. You would need to also take in consideration the type of hosting plan you have. Please be aware using a shared server plan such as education, Basic, Business plans those are all shared servers plans.  Those tend to have limitations due to being shared servers those restrictions may or may not limit the way your environment may run using various scripting or scripts. It is a general rule of thumb to allow a two week deadline for testing that way if any issues to come up you have sufficient time to resolve them. I would suggest under the time constraint you have put yourself, to ensure that when uploading all files and scripts that all paths are correct, for instance if you have an image of something on the webpage and it does not show, then you will need to look at the coding portion of your webpage to ensure you have the proper path calling for the image and the image is named properly. as all linux servers are case sensitive meaning needs to be correctly spelled on the coding and file. The file must also physically exit on your account on the server. As, I am only mentioning one possible issue there can be others depending on your knowledge level and the type of web design being used.

I hope this is some what helpful to your question, as it is always better to provide yourself more time in testing your website before going live.

If your site will be basically a one-way (PTA to parents) announcement and newsletter board, it should be fairly simple and quick to test. If more than one person (on the PTA side) will be adding content, you might want to bring up a CMS (Drupal or Joomla, or even WordPress). A very complex PTA site would include confidential discussions between a student's teacher(s) and the parents, which means IDs and passwords, and even a hook into the school grades system and attendance system to automatically display grades and current status of the student. That you're not going to get done in a week, but a good first roll-out would be an announcement board. You would add more capabilities as you stabilize the initial functions and parents (and teachers) get used to using it. Calendar functions to schedule in-person meetings, as well as signups for fundraising events, would complete the suite of functions.

Anyway, I would not try to get all the planned functions in the system for the initial roll-out. Take it a little at a time.

 Welcome Welcome Welcome

Could you email me what I need to sign up for the Education Program? I emailed the education program email 4 times with no response.  I really want to get it up and running asap.
The site is pretty straight forward. It has several pages of info ranging from membership info, volunteering, calendar, things like that. I don't anticipate it taking too long to get it up and running. There are no password protected areas or forums.

Do you have a help desk ticket?  Should have gotten an automated response from the help desk once you e-mailed in.  Get that to me, and I'll be sure that our guys in the office in charge of that check into your questions ASAP.
