Hello,

Sorry if I've posted this in wrong section I'm rather confused by your forums.
Basically, I went to go buy the Basic Hosting Plan for 12months at £6.99 a month along with the £4.85 Private Domain Registration.
I got to the billing page and it said total roughly £88, now I thought I was paying Monthly?
As in end of month or start of month I pay the amount to keep it going for that month.
But it seems like I need to buy it in bulk, as in give you the £88 and no worry about the renewal thing.
But problem is I can only pay a bit every month hense why I chose it.

If you can help me by telling me if I have to pay in bulk or if it's just telling me the total so I know and that I'd actually be paying per month like it says.

Thanks,
  Joshua

Hi Joshua  Pete waves

to the Lunarforums   Welcome

Its a pre-sales question so you are in the right place   Rofl

Not Lunarpages staff so there is a possibility I am wrong here but I had a look at the hosting variables for you.  Thumbs Up

If you wanted to pay every three months for hosting ( which is the lowest permitted time) you would pay £8./99 for each of those 3 months ( upfront) so £26.97 PLUS £16 setup fee. The setup fee is for ......setting you up. and is a one off so in three months you only pay the next installment of £26.97 and three months later another £26.97 etc etc etc
The figure you were quoting of  £6.99 per month would be if you paid for 12 months hosting as a one off payment it would be £83.88 (and no setup fee)
The same as lots of things in the UK ( I'm assuming that because you quoted  in £ not $ ) Big Wink if you pay for car insurance or car TAX for 12 months its cheaper than paying it monthy ( or quarterly )

Hope that helps Smile

Haha Thanks Pete.

That somewhat solved a small bit of what I needed to know but the question is still out there do I need to pay in Bulk? Or can I still pay it per month like it says? instead of paying £88 straight up. Because I don't have £88, I have enough money to be able to pay it monthly.

Thanks,

3 months at a time (plus a one-time setup fee) is the shortest time you can pay for. I haven't seen a pay-by-month. When they quote you "X per month", that's so you can compare different plans on the same "unit price" basis. You can't actually pay by the month. The more months you pay for at a time, the lower the per-month cost, but the higher the lump sum payment. It's a bit deceptive, talking about "per month" when that headline price is for 60 months at a time, but that appears to be standard industry practice. You just have to learn to read the fine print carefully!
