1) I'd like to test Lunarpages during the 30 day refund period, and therefore, I don't plan to move the domain name I am currently using at another ISP yet.  Instead, I'll just use a subdomain under lunarpages.com first, which I understand will be free.  However, once I am ready to move my domain name here, will there be a charge to move it and if so, how much?

2) One ISP that I use allows you to create POP3 mailboxes with any name you wish as long the name has not already been used by another domain on the shared server.  Another ISP that I use starts each POP3 mailbox with the domain name and then adds an arbitrary running number at the end, which of course isn't terribly intuitive (you use aliases to create more "human" email addresses).  Does Lunarpages use either method, or does it allow ANY POP3  account name to be created regardless of other shared domains (my preference).

3) With one of my ISP's, I cannot directly view a PNG file such as http://www.abc.com/graphic.png when using Mozilla/Win or ANY Linux web browser (Mozilla, Konqueror, Opera).  Gibberish is displayed.  This isn't a problem with my other ISP though.  The "problem" ISP says that this doesn't fall within their area of support, even though it's obviously a problem with how their servers operate or are configured.  Would Lunarpages have this problem?

Of course, I can determine the answers to 2) and 3) during the 30 day period, but an answer prior to signing up would be best.  Thanks.

1, You can do that. Just signup using a Lunarpages subdomain. When you want to move your domain name. You can do that for free.

2, Your email address is your pop3 username. It is as easy as that.  "[Smile]"

3, We would not have any issue with that. Even if you need to add another mime type to the configuration. You can actually do that yourself via the control panel. It is very easy.

All clear on queries 1) and 3).  Re: 2), it's good that the POP3 mailbox = the email address name.

One question is still pending though: can I create ANY email account name under my domain (e.g. john), even if that name was already used by another shared domain on the server?  Or do I have to jigger the email name so that it doesn't conflict with names already in use by others?

Thanks.

I don't understand your question.

You don't have a domain name on lunarpages, so you cannot create e-mail addresses under your domain.

You can under your subdomain.

I think what he's asking is:

If he created bobxtp@crafts.lunarpages.com, would it conflict with bobxtp@sports.lunarpages.com...can the two bobxtp's exist without conflict?

Obsidian's interepretation of my question was correct.  Although, I'm really looking ahead to the time when/if I move my domain name here, not so much during the "trial/refund" period when I'll just use a subdomain under lunarpages.com.

If I have free rein to create any email account name I wish without bumping any existing names on the same server, it's an advantage over my current ISP.  Whether Lunarpages can overcome the "problems" I'm having at other ISP's will be a deciding factor on whether I move here.

Yes, you can create that without any issue.

Thats mainly why i mentioned your pop3 username was your full email address = a totally unique login.
