I just read, and re-read, the message about shopping carts & 10% problems; then I went back to the hosting plan comparison page and looked. It shows in the standard plan, next to shopping cart, an "n/a" which means non-applicable, or (as I understand it) not there. I really like your site and want to transfer my site here, but I need something that I can eventually turn into an e-commerce site as well, since I will be selling items at some time in the future.
Can anyone clue me in on this?

Oh, and by the way, in your demo of the control panel, the word forwarders - email forwarders - is misspelled.

Basically, LunarPages does have the Agora Shopping Cart as part of their Premium plan but you can install any shopping cart software you wish so long as it is written to connect with a mySQL database.  Access databases WILL NOT work as LunarPages use Linux as the operating system, and not a Microsoft product.

There are literally hundreds of shopping cart software out there.  My advise is go to a search engine (ie: google) and search for shopping cart, eCommerce, or anything along those lines and find a cart in your price range (a lot of them are free) that suits the type of business you want to run!  If it's a product based business, almost any cart will work but if it is a subscription business or a service business, you really have to look at the cart to make sure it has the functionality you need.

LunarPages just provides the Agora cart to make things a little easier for you.

PS:  You can install a shopping cart on any LunarPages plan... just keep in mind with the Standard plan, there is 500 MB web space and One mySQL database - although you can purchase more of both if need be.

Hope this helps!

Yes, it helped a lot. Thanks. (I guess I will have to pull out my old SQL books...)

There is a company, 2checkout.com, that has a nice setup.  They have a perl shopping cart that works well.  I use it on http://www.tsoftusa.com.  It's easy to setup and easy to use and maintain.
