Hello,

Thanks for your interest in Lunarpages.

Load times are determined by so many different factors, everything from your physical location and how many hops between you and the Lunarpages server and what routes are taken,  also your ISP can effect this time, along with other factors but you can generally  test things here: www.lunarpages.com/speedtest/ and also we offer a 30 day money back guarantee in case you are not satisfied so feel free to try us out.

I hope this was helpful.

Interesting... are competitors' names edited out only when mention of them is neutral or positive? If it's negative, the name can stay? Seems rather silly to me.

I think it's obvious - this IS LUNARPAGES forum, why should they advertise their competitors.

Duh. Read the first post. A competitor is mentioned there, but in a negative light. It has been allowed to stay, while mentions of other hosting competitors are quickly removed. That was my point.

I don't know why the competitors name was removed but I have never had a problem with lunarpages speeds. Of course loading times are only as fast as your connection. Lunarpages hosting has never been the bottleneck though. Smile

The administration has the right to edit every single post and I find this fair. This is a forum about LunarPages and not his competitors, if you want to compare LunarPages with other sites you can do it on webmaster forums and not here. Smile
PS: As you see the website name was filtered. Smile

Well, the overall loading speed of pages may consist of several factors, I've seen that.

My domain is hosted in the eastern coast of the U.S.A. (not LP) and the connection is very fast (connecting from northern Europe). One of my friend's domains has been hosted in LP for years and it has always been thrilling to see, whether I see something else than a timeout.

I usually type the domain name and do something else while waiting for the page to load.

I seriously have considered using the services of LP, but the overall speed is quite controversial. The speed test shows quite fast response times and transfer speeds, but using actual production servers show  quite slower speeds, if anything.  Confused

Are the "speed test" files hosted in some turbo-server, and customers get class-B servers?  Confused

You can try downloading a variety of data of size 1MB, 5MB, 10MB, 50MB and 100MB from that test page. They are all zip files just for speed test purpose. From the download speed you will be able to justify my claim on Lunarpages. Be rest assured that the files are clean and virus/trojan free (I have done it personally).

For the purpose of comparisons, I am using a 512MB broadband internet connection and I’m from Asia. I downloaded the files during day time (suppose to be the peak time of internet traffic in my area). And the time I needed to get the 1MB file is 50seconds which is roughly 22 kB/second. The number is not very impressive though but seeing the peak period, my location and speed of connection I am using, I think the speed is awesome.
