Which plan to host IPB powered website? Thanks!

1) My target users are mainly from China. So the speed needs to nice in China.

2) Sure it has to meet the recommended requirements by IPBoard.

3) I am currently using Business Pro (win-based) from *another host to host 4 websites (three of them were built with asp.net) and the expiry date is in Next Apri. Since it is TOO slow to open IPB in China, I have no choice that I have to move IPB powered website immediately at the moment. And when *another host plan expires, I think I will move all other websites too.

So, please kindly suggest one plan for me. Thank you very much! Smile

Welcome to the Lunarforums!  Welcome

I would suggest going with the Basic or Business hosting plans.  Either should help you get off the ground and get started.  As long as your forums are well managed, I see no problem with that.  I have heard issues of scripts like IPB or vBulletin being a little resource hungry when it comes to RAM or CPU usage, so that is something to keep in mind too.  Later on, depending on your popularity or success, you might check out our VPS hosting options.  Hope that helps, and if you have any other questions - please feel free to let us know.  Thanks!

Thanks a lot!

Do you happen to know some IPB powered websites? Could you kindly post them here for me to check the speed?

And is this one hosted on you:

Thank you very much! Smile

Well, we can't give out client links due to privacy concerns, however if anybody has an example link to share - please feel free to do so here, and also you might try searching the forums here for a few more examples.

Thanks a lot!

Another two questions:
1) My current host is Unlimited Pro (Windows-based) from IX Webhosting. And its expiry date is on Apr-26-2010.
It seems you have special offer for this. So i visited here http://www.lunarpages.com/special-offer/
to select 6 months to sign up windows host, but that coupon is Not Avaible. Why?

2) If I purchased Windows host today, where I can go to ask you to help transfer the website content for me?

You are wanting to sign up for the Windows hosting plan, correct?  Try this link:

https://secure.lunarpages.com/signup/order:windows,Xfer06

It should take you right to the order form, with the coupon applied.   Thumbs Up

1) Thanks! I was told this coupon Xfer06 only effects after the purchase. If you approve the evidence that I have 6 months remaining in other webhosting company, you'll add this 6months onto what I purchased right?

But now I have another coupon to get some price off. Can I use them together? Thank you very much!

2) Do you provide service for helping transferring the website content? Thanks!

That is correct, you can read about the special terms of the agreement here:

+ Hosting Transfer Offer (click on the "Terms" tab)

You would need to meet the requirements listed there.

As far as moving the content goes, you will need to do that, but we will help out the best we can.  Check out this guide on how to move to Lunarpages web hosting for more information.

At this time, this is no way to mix special offers or coupons.  You would have to pick one or the other.

Thank you!

But the funny thing is
I signed up Windows Host, but I mistakenly input the wrong CVV2. And your system responses:
"Your credit card had the following problems:
The transaction has been declined. (Security code does not match). "

But my bank notified me that the transaction is successfully complete.

But now I don't have the response from your side yet. and no confirmation email for the Acp, etc.

Frustrating! It is really confused why it is like that.

My domain name is: paltalkpages.com

Again,  I checked the guide on "how to move to Lunarpages web hosting" link you sent me.

But is it the same for me to move IPB powered website? Why there is no instruction for transferring the database?

Thanks!

On the ordering problem, please contact sales@lunarpages.com, submit a help desk ticket to the sales desk, or call 1-714-521-8150 and they can assist you with that.

For more assistance on moving your forum files and databases, check out some of these links here, they should help.

I am really really sad. Your support team told me that sales team will contact me shortly!

But I received nothing notice, nothing from your sales team!!

It is wasting my time, too. I've told you that I needed to move the host urgently. But now?Huh

LP billing only works Monday-Friday, and isn't 24/7. From experience most of my weekend/night tickets are answered around 11am Pacific time. So I would suggest waiting until atleast tomorrow night.
