Well I am a bit worried. The thing is that I would love to join Lunarpages. They have really great reviews, are not afraid to have a forum, and they are always ready to help you.

On Monday I sent an inquiry e-mail to Lunarpages.
No reply...
On Wednesday I sent it once again, asking for help.
No reply...
On Thursday I was really depressed and sent another e-mail (my hosting account at another company was ending, so I was really in a big hurry).
No reply...
Today (Sunday) I sent the e-mail once again.

I am not trying to yell my frustrations and go away, I just want to become a customer, but I haven't been given a chance to become one. Information exchange is essential to me, as I live in Europe and I can prqctically use only e-mail. However, the e-mail 24/7 support is failing so far...

Below I am posting my first message sent to Lunarpages. The 2nd and 4th point were removed, as I already know the answer to them:

Message:

Hello

I would like to get response from you as soon as possible, because I am changing hosts within the next 24-48 hours and I would like to have you as my future hosting company. Therefore I have a few basic questions.

1. Adult content. I am a photographer and I deal with artistic and commercial photography. I also shoot a lot of artistic nudes. I don't consider the content of my website neither pornographic nor abusive, but you ask to have access to such content before setting up an account, so here it is: http://www.jedrak.com/eng/zdjecia.htm . My future photographic plans are similar, so I guess there is no problem with abusive/adult content.

2. removed, as I know the answer.

3. Support. Is your e-mail support truly reliable. I live in Poland, so making trans-atlantic phone calls is rather out of the question, therefore I would like to make sure the e-mail services are fast in case of any problems.

4. removed, as I know the answer.

PLEASE provide answers to all my questions as soon as possible, because timing is essential for me, as I don't want to have any site and mail downtime.

Thank you in advance

You must have a full email box or the wrong return address set up when you send email.

We answer ALL questions, it should not take more than 2 hours to get a reply.

Make sure you email support@lunarpages.com or info@lunarpages.com they are attended at all times.

I did a search on michal@jedrak.com in the support desk, and it is no where to found. What email address did you send from?

Answer to your questions:

1, We would not have a problem hosting your website. It is artistic.

3, Our email support is attended to 24/7/365 it is very reliable and you get an answer within 2 hours of the support request. Urgent requests gets responded to quicker.

Make sure your email address is setup properly so you can send email. We have no issues recieving it.

For more input on the email support, please feel free to ask our customers.

How can I find out if I have something wrong with my e-mail? I have set up my mail a year ago, and I receive an average of 5 e-mails a day. Nobody has ever told me about sending an e-mail which I haven't received. I have e-mailed both info and support@lunarpages.com
But I don't say that this problem can't have happened. How should I solve the problem? I have Eudora 5.2.

Well, if your current hosting provider is going to shut you down or have been shutting you down. Maybe they removed the email capability for you. Try to send from another email address.

Thanks, I will try to use another e-mail account. Now I remember that some 9 months ago I had a similar problem with one recipient in London. My e-mail was sent properly, but the reply could not make it to me. I will e-mail the support section right now and see.

Seems strange, though. I have registered to this forum just about half an hour ago, and I can write here because I have received an e-mail to my account (the same account used for sending those previous mails). How can it be explained?

HIP-HIP-HOORAY

Yes, my inquiry has been answered (i used an alternative mail). I have already registered, and I am impatiently waiting for the phone and stuf...

So in general we can consider the topic closed. But I would like to ask 'why' anyway.

I guess that there are lots of internet gurus on this forum, so could you explain me how does it happen that some e-mail connections are misteriously malfunctioning?

I receive an average of 150 e-mails a month and send an average of 95 e-mails a month. Everything works just fine, no messages are lost. There are of course some problems, but I get return mail (the message could not be delivered because... etc). One time (8 months ago) I was sending an e-mail to friends in London, and they didn't receive anything. I phoned them and they told me that they were sending me mails on a regular basis (I didn't get a single one). There were no return mail messages on both sides. The e-mails were just sent and vanished without a trace.

This is a very rare occurrence, but very problematic and annoying (I was actually mad at Lunarpages, and they were obviously innocent). I had to pay cash to my current host for sustaining my account past the expiry period, and to make matters worse I have exceeded the transfer limit at my current host (which is a CRAPPY 2GB/mo.), and I will also have to pay for that    "[Frown]"    although I will not use the additional transfer because I am leaving them tomorrow    "[mad]"

So as you can see, this 'e-mail fun' has cost me some cash and lots of nerves.

Can someone with extensive Internet knowledge explain this 'magic' to me?

Anyway, Lunarpages seem to be OK, and I hope I will stay here for good.
