I see you are given 512mb of ram and a guarentee 1/25 of the processor, but you can use more if it is available.   I'm assuming though with VPS it's not possible overuse the resources and have your account suspended?

Hi Tim,

That's correct. The VPS environment allows for bursting within reasonable limits, but does not permit one VPS from dominating the hardware node's resources. Consequently, it is very unlikely that a VPS account can be suspended for excessive memory or CPU usage.

I hope this is helpful.

Is there a new address for the FAQ?

It doesn't seem to be at the above link...

For some reason it's dropping the "faq.php" when you access the page.  That is the right address though.

Unfortunately it does not work for me.  It takes me to the page that says:  "Welcome to Lunardesk".

There is a knowledge base link at the top that will eventually lead you to the VPS "knowledge base" page.  On this page the questions are painfully spread out into multiple pages and answer to each question is hidden away in yet another page.  Sometimes the answers are barely one line long and therefore hardly deserving a page of their own.  In the end the user is thoroughly frustrated with the whole experience.  I am hoping that this is not the FAQ you were referring to.

Regardless I still appreciate the effort.  Most of the competition doesn't even do this much.

I went ahead and fixed the link so it works now.

I went ahead and fixed the link again since we moved to the new help desk system. If you feel that there should be another article posted in one of the sections, you can submit your own FAQ using the submit link on the site (pending review, etc).

Tx - that's handy for a tutorial guide I'm writing about setting up VPS for newbies.

...I guess LP doesn't have an unmanaged VPS solution tho, huh?

What do you mean bu unmanaged VPS? The Lite managed addon available for VPS includes monitoring only.

unmanaged - ie, build your own.  you know, blank box but with various linux distro options, then build everything you want, so say you can choose nginx rather than apache, all that.

is that the deal with Lite?  do you have a link, out of interest?

tx.

Ahh, I got it now. No you can't choose the linux distributive on Lunarpages VPS plan. But you are not limited with installing the software on the server you are getting unless it becomes illegal as per California laws. The Managed Lite addon available for VPS servers includes monitoring of important services on  the VPS server by Lunarpages staff who will re-act, if any of those services alert. All information about our Linux VPS offer is available at
