blog commenting is spam or not?
« on: August 08, 2016, 04:03:08 AM »
I think it's spam but still people are still suggesting to do it. SO what is your answer for it?

If done merely to make a backlink to your site, it's spam. If done to actually contribute to the discussion, AND THE LINK TO YOUR SITE IS USEFUL INFORMATION for readers (whether in the body of the post, or a signature block), it's not spam.

To do relevant blog comments is not spam but commenting something useless on blogs just for the sake of getting back links can definitely be termed as spam. If you comment on blogs try to say things which provide something valuable to the readers.

I think MrPhil is right, Google hates link spamming. Blog comments are one of those easy ways to earn a link back to your site. As said comments should add some value to the post/blog in a way that helps other readers. If you are not sure about to add a link to your site while adding comments, you can use Moz bar to check the domain's spam score. You can ignore adding a link while commenting on higher spam score blogs. I hope this may add some value to other answers.

I have done research on this before and I found many irrelevant comments on dofollow blogs in order to get backlinks. And this was the easiest way to get backlinks in the previous days, but google has filtered so many websites with new algorithm updates. I also believe that spreading good information on relevant blogs or on a website make sense for visitors & google, so sharing good knowledge of information and links will definitely be counted in SEO.

it basically depends on the web pages you are commenting on. You should find out niche relevant with high PR websites. And the content you are sharing through your comments must be unique and information. If above all the okey then of course blog commenting is helpful for the website.
